Sphere's liability
Sphere acts as an intermediary and is not responsible for the delivery or compliance of the product. These responsibilities belong to the seller. Sphere does not participate in the buyer-seller contract, nor in the management of delivery, packaging or product compliance.
Moderation of reported content in Messenger (groups and channels)
Any member can report a message inside a Sphere Messenger group or channel that they believe violates these guidelines or applicable law, including but not limited to: harassment, non-consensual explicit sexual content, sale of illicit goods, narcotics or weapons, money laundering, and any form of child exploitation.
When a report is received, the system keeps a snapshot of the reported message (not the full conversation history) and runs an automatic first-pass AI classification to assess risk and prioritize review.
Personnel explicitly authorized by the ecosystem's super_admin — under a specific role, separate from other administrative roles — may review the reported message together with a limited number of messages immediately before and after it within the same conversation, solely to assess the report's context. This access:
- Is read-only: the reviewer does not appear as a group member and cannot be identified by other participants.
- Is fully logged (who, what, and when) in an internal audit trail.
- Is limited to the content strictly necessary to resolve the report, never the full history of the group or channel.
Reported content and the review log are retained for approximately 90 days after the case is resolved, after which they are automatically deleted, except for the cases described below.
Zero tolerance for child exploitation
Sphere applies zero tolerance to any content constituting child sexual exploitation (CSAM). Any report classified in this category:
- Is reviewed exclusively by the ecosystem's super_admin, never by other reviewer roles.
- May result in the immediate, automatic suspension of the involved profile, without waiting for manual review to conclude, in order to stop the spread of the content as quickly as possible.
- Is preserved as evidence — without exception, and without the 90-day limit noted above — for legal compliance purposes and possible reporting to the competent authorities.
Sphere cooperates with the competent authorities in investigating this type of content, in accordance with applicable law.
